Exclusive interview with Dikers

We bring you an exclusive interview with the Navarrese rock group Dikers, that with his fifth job "Carousel" They have taken a more than definitive step to consolidate state rock in the world. You can find more information about his new album in the article we publish about "Carousel". And of course on its renewed website: dikers.com

Here you have the interview:

  • How would you define your style, for who has not yet heard your music?

Our music does not have a defined style, we have fast songs, slow songs, half times, we even have a rap. It would be difficult to define ourselves in a specific style, although in almost all the songs we have a guitar and rock base. Many groups when composing think about pulling for one roll or another, we are one of those who simply compose without thinking about styles. Then there are songs that come in and others that don't.

  • Can you recommend us a Spanish rock group (not worth you XD) and another foreign one?

Spanish: Hamlet. I have seen them a lot of times live and they have a knack that you freak out but the last time I saw them (about 2 weeks ago) they left me scared. They are fucking great on stage and they sounded really, really good. They also wore a volume that my ears almost bleed. I enjoyed it.

Alien: Fall Out Boy. His latest album seems to me to be one of the best that has been made in years. The singer has a voice and technique that I love. I hope I can see them live and that they fulfill my spectacular fan.

  • 9 years and 5 albums later. What is the trick to make Carousel continue to sound as "Dikers" as your first album?

The truth is that I don't know where the trick is. As I mentioned before, we do not close any door when composing. The songs come out naturally and it is perhaps that naturalness that makes us sound like dikers.

  • What would a rock group be without having collaborations on their albums? Dikers undoubtedly has some of the best, but in what projects of other groups can we find you?

I have a recording studio and I am dedicated to recording groups and many of those groups I collaborate. For example Havoc, Enrtevías, Mr Fylyn, Barua, Broken Dreams, Got Cash, Bottle Poets, Marvin. Zyfra, Barricada, Okplöide ... And outside of my studio with Clueless, Marea, El Vicio del Duende ...

  • On your page (dikers.com) we see that your concert schedule does not stop growing. This year there are also projects to go abroad like the tour that you marked for Germany?

This year at the moment there is nothing abroad, but the album has been released in Germany and elsewhere so if we can we will take a little trip. You never know…

  • How is the creative process, what do you base yourself on to compose your songs?

In everyday things that happen to everyone. At the time of writing I look at movements that happen to me or a colleague, for example, and I try to capture the feelings that these situations create for you. In this way, there are many people who feel identified with those feelings.

  • (this is for Iker): Already in «The nights that I invented myself» we saw that as in «Carousel» you have started to write almost all the lyrics, is perhaps that part the one that most differentiates the 3 first albums of the last two ???

I think so. On the first albums it was hard for me to write, but on the latter it is easier for me. I think that over time you see things clearer and it becomes easier to translate it into a song.

  • Haven't you thought of recovering the second guitar that was "lost" with Gorka's departure after Dale Gas?

The truth is that we have gotten used to this threesome thing. At first it was difficult for us to get to sound forceful with a single guitar, but you learn to do things differently. At the moment we are very well and the three of us are very comfortable.

  • In a matter of record sales, is the world of rock in Castilian difficult?

Difficult everything. When it comes to record sales, rock is bad and any other style is bad, I think ...

  • Do you have a special concert that you remember more than any other?

I especially remember that of San Fermín with the first album, that of San Fermín (also) with the fourth album. I remember the Riviera with Rosendo, The Leganés deck with La Fuga, I remember the Warped Tour… I wouldn't know which one to stay with

  • What opinion do you have of the internet, it helps to promote groups by making them known and thus generating more concerts, do you pass all that movement of the network, or are you critical of it?

Everything has its good side and its bad side. It is true that it helps many groups to promote themselves. It is also true that much less discs are sold, although the concerts are getting better and better.

  • Who has surprised you the most in the world of rock, for better or for worse, of course?

I was very surprised by the song that SA has made with Violadores del Verso. Sounds like a good mix of rock and rap to me.

  • To finish ... I just wish you many more than 100 hearts will see you on this tour in each concert and that we will see you on June 6 at the Casa del Loco in Zaragoza 😉

We hope to give kañita in that concert. Also my cousin is from Zaragoza and has rapped with us on the album… I let it fall.

Greetings. Agur
