47 films compete for the European Film Awards

European Film Awards

The European Film Academy has released the films that are opting to be nominated for the European Film Awards, a total of 47 films among which are winners of major European competitions.

The nominations will be announced on November 3 during the Seville European Film Festival, the awards ceremony is for the December 1 in Malta.

The big favorites for these awards, especially for the best film award are «Caesar must die»By Paolo Taviani and Vittorio Taviani, winner of the Berlin Bear in the last edition,«Amour»Michael Haneke, winner of the last Palme d'Or,«Faust»By Alexander Sokurov, awarded the Golden Lion last year at the Venice Film Festival.

Other films that have many options to be nominated are «Raiders»By Thomas Vinterberg, winner of the best actor award at Cannes for Mads Mikkelsen,«beyond the hills»By Cristian Mungiu awarded the award for best actress, also at Cannes, for Cosmina Stratan and«shame»By Steve McQueen, for which Michael Fassbender won the Volpi Cup now a year ago and its director the Silver Lion in Venice. Although they also compete for other awards, these films will have an easier time sneaking among the candidates for the awards for best performers.
