Emad Burnat Arrested at Los Angeles Airport

Emad Burnat

La oscars ceremony and all the paraphernalia that surrounds this event is never without anecdotes and one of them has been the arrest of Emad Burnat, Palestinian documentary maker nominated for "5 Broken Cameras" at the Los Angeles airport.

Burnat noted that when he arrived at Los Angeles International Airport from Turkey on February 19 with his wife and 8-year-old son, he was told that he did not have the evidence to show that he was an Oscar nominee.

Finally, after an hour of interrogation, they allowed him to enter the country. It should be noted that Burnat had already been in the United States two weeks earlier to participate in an interview with the Israeli co-director of the footage, Guy Davidi.

If you like documentaries recorded in the first person and with war and tragedy as a backdrop, you cannot miss this documentary that features images recorded by Burat himself in his Israeli-occupied town in the West Bank, which range from his daily activities accompanied by protests and shootings.
