"Day Breaks": Norah Jones Announces New Album For October

Day Breaks Norah Jones

This week, the popular singer Norah Jones announced the release of her sixth studio album, which will be called 'Day Breaks' and will go on sale on October 7. As a preview of this new work, the American singer-songwriter released her first single: "Carry On."

'Day Breaks' will be Norah Jones' first work in four years, when' Little Broken Hearts' (2012) was released. A year later Jones released a classics album that included a collection of Everly Brothers covers called 'Foreverly', which he performed with musician Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day).

In this new album, according to Jones defined in his press release, he comments that after having gradually left the piano for the guitar, he has decided on this album to meet again with the instrument for which he began to be popularly recognized. Also on 'Day Break', Jones assured that he returns to his jazzy roots and the more traditional sounds that have led her to sign for the Blue Note label.

Textually Jones commented: “I feel like this new album is a starting point, because with it I have returned to my first influences. After the first album, I decided to get away from the piano for a bit. Although I kept playing it, I was more inspired to write music on the guitar. I really loved playing the piano again on this new album. ".

For this new work, Jones has had the collaborations of her current labelmates, which includes figures such as Wayne Shorter, Dr. Lonnie Smith or Brian Blade, who have joined the singer in her recording. A very representative advance of this return to its musical origins has been the presentation of the single 'Carry On', a subject with a delicate halftime that has been released with a video clip directed by Claire Marie Vogel, in which a nice elderly couple appears dancing to the beat of the song that Jones herself sings on the piano.

Another pleasant news has been the confirmation of the next tour that will be carried out in Europe, which will include a concert on Friday, November 18 at the Palacio Municipal de los Congresos in Madrid, a meeting that already has its tickets on sale.
