Daft Punk It is a French duo that make electronic music. It is made up of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. The two musicians met in high school in Paris. 
The name of this group comes from the epithet "a bunch of daft punk" which means (a lot of silly punk). This name was given to him by the English magazine Melody Maker in the duo's first collaboration on Darlin.
Daft Punk has a style house but mixed with chords disco, and ballads of rock a little bit of funk, some of techno y synth. This set is inspired in part by the famous Beach Boys.
The staging of this duo is very peculiar, they dress up as robots both in recitals and in a report or advertising images.
The duo has several hits but one of the most recent is the album Discovery which became the music track from the anime film Interstella 5555, which in turn came from the remix album called DaftClub.
It really is a group worth hearing and seeing live. The staging is very funny.
