Criticism of "El Luchador", in Actualidad Cine

Yesterday, and for the modest sum of $ 8,50, I entered a movie theater not very promising, but that was fine for the rainy day that played. 13.20 was the show, and with my feet very wet, I couldn't help but wait, to pretend that the chosen film was, at least, a good one.

And what did I find? With a performance of Mickey Rourke incredible, with a highly human story, with a truly impeccable treatment of the characters, the times, the spaces and ferocities. The story of a fighter, whose time is slipping through his fingers. And a damn incident forces him to rethink what he has done with his life, and what he will do from then on. A daughter who has not seen for a long time, a friend in whom she is interested as something else, and to whom time is also slipping away.

The life of a great fighter, a great cavaret dancer, a great daughter, and a society just as enchanted as the soul of these three characters. It is, in a way, a criticism of the elections, and of the motivations of those elections, which are not always their own, but are often caused by the voices of others, external, spectators of an illusory fame, of a phantasmic reality that is offered as food, as well as as the only receiving mouth of the invasive violence of the world. A fighter who falls and gets up, because it is the only thing he can do.

I must say that the film has left me very satisfied, and it says more than it could, since it could calmly fall into the superficiality of the portrait, without undressing the emotions that a hideous, although beautiful Mickey Rourke describes with his eyes. That is what I have seen.
On the musical side, it was not for nothing that this film had in the final titles a Bruce Springsteen song of the same name, the wrestler. The film does well in the rustic style that viewers with tickets to Bruce Springsteen's concerts in Spain will appreciate that will take place in the summer.

And entering the discord, being that the Oscar was very fought between Rourke and Sean Penn, I will say that the award was deserved for Peann, since Mickey, despite being dazzling, is lacking in the humanity that only the correct route provides. But from here, I tell you, Mr. Rourke, that I will be supporting you to the end, always.
