The Delinqüentes.

The rectangular Hall of the secluded Hotel Fernando III in Sevilla It seems stopped in the 70's; marble floors, rectangular smoked windows with custom-patterned curtains, and an improvised bed of Sevillian flowerpots divides a bright space. There are no seats. In the background, as in the stadiums that fill up lately, the cafeteria, and there, Diego and Marcos scoring goals to a colleague from Extremadura TV who was passing through the city, she painted her lips, and has done an intense interview for Badajoz TV. As she is fired, I read and take some notes on ABC ...

Silvia Mendez, Emotional Communication, the friendly shadow of the tour they have in hand, introduces me to these two rogue musicians from Jerez de la Frontera, Diego, "the mouse", and Marcos, "the canijo"; They invite me to sit down, and spontaneously the theme of electric guitars comes up ...

Diego: “My uncle Miguel was the first to take an electric guitar out of the Morón base; Before that, there in Jerez they transformed flamenco guitars into electric guitars ”.

Diego looks like a guitarist and he is. His fondness for the temple of acoustics comes from long ago, and in high school he already formed "the Mouse Band", which accompanies the group as an indissoluble part of it. One day he called him Migue, who knew Marcos ...

Mark: “My father played the guitar forever, and he always liked music; I listened to the records of Los Beatles, Triana, Jimi Hendrix… I knew Migue, who was a creative and spontaneous uncle, and we started going to Diego's house to learn. »

From there, and from the prolific imagination of Migue, who wrote songs with a lot of talent, emerged The Delinqüentes ...

Diego: ”One day we said, well, what are we going to call each other? and someone said Los Delinqüentes, and that's how it stayed ... but with "q", not with "k" or anything like that; at that time all the groups put the "k": Kortatu, Ketama, OBK, - hahahaha, laughs ... but we said that with "q", and with "q" it stayed ".

In 1999 they recorded their first demo, Street architecture in the air. That same year, and with production of Jose Manuel Garcia Pelayo, the band recorded their second demo on a professional basis ...

Mark: «Since then we have not stopped. 5 albums, performances everywhere, ... between 2005 and 2007 we gave a whopping 120 concerts; we spent two years without resting for a week ”.

They are considered one of the bands on the Spanish music scene with greater national and international projection...

Mark: ”We still like to play more than anything in the world. When you get on stage, it doesn't matter how tired you are, I don't know how to explain it to you ... "

Diego: ”We have the same enthusiasm for playing as 11 years ago; In this time we have been able to get to know other cities, other people, other cultures, which have enriched us, but our spirit remains the same. "

After saying goodbye, just before leaving the hotel, Marcos exclaims in the almost empty hall, and with our mere presence: «! Take care, this guy takes the ABC! «. The receptionist's frank smile ended the scene.
