Confirmed: Brian Johnson will be replaced by Axl Rose

Axl Rose to replace Brian Johnson at AC / DC

In the last hours it was confirmed that Axl Rose will replace Brian Johnson as singer of the Australian group AC / DC. A press release released last Monday (18) confirmed that the leader of the American group will be the new vocalist of AC / DC during the next European tour, which will start in Portugal and end in Denmark. Rose will finally replace Johnson, who has recently had to leave the stage due to health problems, upon detecting that he could lose his hearing completely if he continued in the group and with the tours.

The press release detailed the important news: "AC / DC to resume Rock or Bust world tour with singer Axl Rose as new vocalist". The European tour will begin in Lisbon on May 7, three days later it will stop at the Cartuja of Seville and will end on June 12 in the city of Aarhus (Denmark).

The statement also dedicates words to its predecessor: “The members of AC / DC want to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the group over the years. We wish you a speedy improvement in your hearing condition and in your next challenges. We would have liked to end this tour as it started, but we understand, respect and support Brian's decision to leave the tour and take his time recovering from his hearing problem. ".

The incorporation of Axl Rose to AC / DC will not be an impediment to fulfill the commitments that he has with his band, Guns N 'Roses, who reunited his classical lineup after 23 years: the tour with this group plans a tour of 21 American cities starting in June, just as Rose ends her collaboration on the AC / DC tour. The Australian group seems not to leave behind its recent slump: after the withdrawal of Malcolm Young due to dementia and problems with the law of drummer Phil Rudd, AC / DC has been forced to suspend their presentations in the US after the recently announced a medical alert by Johnson.
