Colin Vearncombe, known in the music world as Black and author of the hit 'Wonderful Life' from 1987, died on January 26 after suffering a traffic accident in Ireland on January 10.

With severe head injuries and an induced coma, Black died on January 26 at the University Hospital of Cork surrounded by his family.
Through a brief statement, Black's representative told through the artist's Facebook page how were those last moments of the family with the artist, also mentioning an upcoming tribute to be held in the city of Liverpool:
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Colin Vearncombe (also known as Black) today, Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Colin never regained consciousness after the traffic accident he suffered sixteen days ago. He died peacefully surrounded by his family, who sang to him on his march. His wife, Camilla, and their three children paid tribute to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Cork University Hospital, saying: 'Colin received the best possible care from the hospital's experts and highly professional staff. We are deeply grateful for all that they did. '
