Si in Good Night, and Good Luck has already taken charge of charging the ink against the McCarthy government and its anti-communist witch hunt (a true reflection of what the Bush administration practices today on the other hand), exalting the idea of freedom of expression above the impositions of politics, now, it has been known that together with his partner in Smoke House, Grant Heslov, a former actor of little fortune or talent who has had roles in films like Revenge of the Rookies III ... no comment, is preparing another film for Warner in which he tells how the CIA, with the help of Hollywood, used a fictional film project to secretly get six Americans out of Tehran during the 1979 crisis.
According to Variety magazine, Warner Bros has been in charge of buying the rights to the story from Joshuah Bearman, who wrote the real story in Wired magazine, and where it was said that a CIA agent named Tony Mendez (not Tony Montana por Dios) was in charge of preparing the rescue of six Americans, setting up a fake production company called Studio Six (as the number of hostages to rescue) Productions.
Like previous Smoke House projects, Escape from Tehran is more than likely a Clooney-directed film, the third since it debuted with the interesting Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
