Fausta suffers from a well-known disease, called "frightened tit," a disease transmitted through the breast milk of women who were raped or abused during the Shining Path terrorism war in Peru. The war is long over, but Fausta lives remembering it because of her illness, "the disease of fear," which has stolen her soul. The death of her mother will put her in an extreme situation, having to face her fears and the secret that she hides with more suspicion. And it is that a potato has been introduced into the vagina, as a shield, since only disgust stops the disgusting. The film, in a way, tells of the search for a flourish, a journey from fear to freedom.

This is the second film of the Peruvian Claudia Llosa, who currently lives in Barcelona. The first was «madeinusa«. And this last one, "La teta scared", will be the only majority Spanish production that will compete in the next Berlinale, within the official section.

The film, "apart from talking about the war and its delays, (...) tries to explore the idea of recovering self-esteem as a basic part of the healing process," says the director. And he affirms that his film has a lot of metaphor about the situation in Peru. «The Fausta process could be extrapolated to that of Peru after a dark and difficult time where fear, violence and ignorance reigned for decades. But where the feeling of wanting to cross your fingers, hoping to have learned your lesson, still lingers. And it is that perhaps we have not yet learned it.

The film has the same protagonist as in "Madeinusa", Magaly solier. "The scared tit" was supported by the World Cinema Fund, an initiative of the Berlin Film Festival and the German Ministry of Culture, to encourage production in developing countries, with 50.000 euros.
