Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, has made several statements on a North American television network about the plans that his company has for the Star Wars franchise, well beyond Episode VII that he will direct, as you all know, J.J. Abrams.
As Iger stated:
“I can confirm that Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg are working on films derived from great characters from Star Wars that are not part of the generality of the saga. We still plan to make Star Wars 7, 8 and 9 in a period of six years, starting in 2015. But there will be other films that will be released around that time. "
After this news, in many internet forums there were rumors about a movie that would be starring mainly Yoda, although, obviously, nothing has been confirmed.
Be that as it may, and despite the fact that the passage of the franchise at the hands of Disney has not sat well with the most staunch followers of the saga since many people think that the original spirit will be lost, from Disney they have a team specialized in great productions and they will not let that special magic that has always accompanied these films disappear.
