Antonio Banderas will play Pablo Picasso in the next movie of Carlos Saura which will be called «33 Days»(33 Days)» and deals with the emotional confusion of the Malaga painter while working on his masterpiece on Guernica.
«33 Days»Basically refers to the time that Picasso spent on the mural, inspired by the destruction of the Basque city of Guernica in 1937 by the Luftwaffe of the Nazis during the Spanish Civil War.
«Picasso is a character who has haunted me for a long time », said Banderas. «He deserves a lot of respect because I am from Malaga, and I was born four blocks from where he was born»
The film will be spoken in French and Spanish and will begin shooting next summer in Paris and Guernica. The budget is around $ 8 million.
