Despite all the problems - the mental ones of the guitarist and founder Malcolm Young and the judicial ones of the drummer Phil Rudd for death threats and possession of drugs -, AC/DC They are not daunted and, with the clear intention of moving forward, they announce a world tour in 2015 to present their new album. Their leader, Angus Young, talks about his new album 'rock or bust', which will be published on December 2 and which comes two years after the direct "Live at River Plate".

The gradual worsening of Malcolm Young's dementia delayed the advancement of the group's fifteenth studio album, which was announced in an interview in 2011. “We hoped that his illness would stabilize and that he would be able to work, but in the end he himself realized that he could not contribute more », says the youngest Young in AC/DC.

"His health, from the physical point of view, is good right now and he is being cared for with the best means," he says about who, in addition to his brother, is a fundamental member of the veteran band, which celebrated 50 years of existence. in 2013.

His absence will be noticed on the tour that "undoubtedly" will take them next year to present "Rock or Bust" around the world because the intention, says Young, "is for AC / DC to move on." The guitarist pointed out that "we will continue for as long as possible to do it and, moreover, to do it well", before stressing that "the determining factor" is that they retain that "passion" that has preserved them from the shadow of dissolution that afflicted them. so many other contemporary bands.

For more information, his drummer Phil Rudd has just been indicted in New Zealand for death threats and possession of drugs (they dropped the charges for instigation to commit two murders), after a search in the house that the 60-year-old musician has in that country. "Phil is in a tough spot right now," Young concedes. "Before the latest events, we already had some problems, because it was becoming very difficult to work with him," he reveals. "And that is something that we still have to solve," he answers the question about the continuity of the musician in the band.

After some previous albums in which they combined their style with "blues" and "soul", AC/DC they returned to the sound of their beginnings in "Black Ice" (2008), a path that continues "Rock or bust" by the hand of the same producer, Brendan O'Brien, and the same mixing engineer, Mike Fraser. "What we've always wanted is to make songs that people recognize from the beginning as AC / DC songs," he says.
