"Alone", the name of the new album by The Pretenders

Alone Pretenders

Under the name of 'Alone' the new album by The Pretenders will soon be released, the first they have released in eight years (Break Up the Concrete - 2008). This album was originally conceived as a second solo LP by Hynde, who had already made her solo debut in 2014 with the album 'Stockholm'. Finally Hynde decided to dump the material for a new album by the legendary Anglo-American band and add it as the tenth studio album of his discography.

Hynde began to produce this new project together with Dan Auerbach, vocalist and guitarist of The Black Keys, in the mythical city of Nashville (Tennessee, USA), and after Hynde's change of plans, he managed to join the rest of the components of The Pretenders to the recording along with other important guest artists.

Collaborators on the album include ex-Johnny Cash bassist Dave Roe and country rocker Kenny Vaughan on guitar, joined by Dan Auerbach's The Arcs: Richard Swift, drums; Leon Michels, keyboards; and finally Russ Pah with his steel guitar. 'Alone' was mixed by Tchad Blake (Arctic Monkeys, Peter Gabriel, Elvis Costello). The album features historic guitarist Duane Eddy, who appears on the song 'Never be together'.

Chrissie Hynde recently commented to the press: «This album is one of the ones I have liked to make the most. It has a lot of emotion, authentic musicians playing authentic music. Everything was very dynamic in its creation, I sang and recorded all the vocal tracks in just 48 hours. 48 hours to sing them, 40 years of preparation! ».

The first trailer for the new album was released in early September, with the single 'Holy commotion', theme included as a bonus track of the same. 'Alone' will be released on October 21 through the labels BMG Rights Management Ltd. and Clouds Hill in CD, vinyl and digital formats.
