Actress Diane Cilento passes away

Australian actress Diane cilentoThe wife of the well-known actor Sean Connery, who was the wife of more than ten years, died in a hospital in Cairns in northern Australia at the age of 78 after suffering a long illness.

The actress told the press in 2006 that she would like to be known for more than just being married to the well-known Scottish actor. The actress, who was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1964 for her role as Molly in the film Tom Jones, stated: "I've had a much more interesting and complicated life than that."

The actress was born on October 5, 1933 in Brisbane and began her artistic career as a teenager in New York, while living with her father and later in London. He worked on nothing less than 27 movies from her debut in 1952 to 1984, not counting the numerous theater and television plays or the two books she wrote and her work as a screenwriter and director.

He had three marriages, with Andrea Volpe from 1956 to 1960, Sean Connery from 1962 to 1973 and with Anthony Shaffer from 1985 to 2001. During the 80s he retired from the big screen to dedicate himself more intensely to the theater; today she leaves two children, Giovanna Vulpe and Jason Connery.
