Just a couple of days ago we commented that a large part of the musical catalog de The Liverpool Four would be available for be downloaded for free.
Well, apparently this it will no longer be possible because the 'podcast'published they did not comply some Norwegian laws, or so they say.
Now, when one enters the page, a message appears that says: "The podcast is not available at this time. Please check back later".
Norwegian law says the following: “NRK cannot broadcast programs with foreign music, if they were aired more than four weeks ago".
As the broadcasts were made in the 2007, the downloads were canceled.
One solution would be to re-broadcast the 'podcast'radially, so that they can be put back on the page for 4 weeks, but Norwegian radio opposes:
"Yes. It is a solution that a large number of people have proposed to us. We could have, but we decided not to".
In view of all this it seems that there will be no way to download the digital catalog of the Beatles legally, because even if the NRK gives in, they'd still have to deal with the Apple Corporation in order to obtain the corresponding permission:
"It was recently reported that a Norwegian broadcasting company, NRK, will make the Beatles' music available for download via a podcast series. Those podcasts are not authorized by Apple Corps Ltd".
