Nile Rodgers: 'Do What You Wanna Do', his first single in a decade

Nile Rodgers Wanna Do

Nile Rodgers, one of the greats of disco music and one of the star producers of the eighties, a few days ago he released his new single called 'Do What You Wanna Do', his first single published in the last ten years and the first since its recent renaissance on the music scene. The song was recorded at the last 'International Music Summit' in Ibiza, held in the summer of 2013, and was subsequently auctioned to benefit the 'We Are Family', the charitable foundation chaired by the well-known musician.

Cr2 Records was the winning label of the auction, which announced that the song will be released on August 10 to celebrate the company's 2th anniversary. Mark Brown, director of the CrXNUMX label, told the press: «I have been a huge fan of Chic and Nile since I was very young. Participating in the auction was something interesting in which we tried to be involved from the beginning. When we later recorded the song, there were no lyrics on the song, just a kind of hook from Nile, we had to work with him to compose more verses and make a complete song ».

In the last year and a half, Rodgers, one of the great legends of funk and disco music, made news again collaborating with great musicians of the moment such as Daft Punk, Pharrell, Avicii and Disclosure.
