One of the most talented actresses in Hollywood, Natalie Portman, has just joined the film that will bring to the big screen the adventures of one of Marvel's most beloved characters, Thor.
As we previously reported, the Norse god will be played by Chris Hemsworth, and it is now Portman who joins Kenneth Branagh's project, composing Jane Foster, a nurse who will take care of Donald Blake, the civilian version of the hammer hero.
Much was discussed about the character of Foster, since the fans demanded that female characters who have a more relevant role be included in the comic of Marvel.
The story will unfold first on Earth, where Foster and Blake meet and fall in love, and then travel to the icy reaches of the kingdom of Asgard.
If all goes well, the transposition to the cinema of the popular comic strip will hit theaters in the United States on June 17 2011.
