Milos Forman and Wong Kar-Wai, two of the candidates for the Prince of Asturias

Next Wednesday the winner of this year's Princes of Asturias Awards for the Arts will be announced. As always happens, the cinema has a prominent place in the candidates. Among the winners of the award are directors Milos Forman, Chinese directors Zhang Yimou and Wong Kar-Wai and playwright Peter Brook.

The decision will not be easy. The jury must choose 51 candidates from the most diverse branches of art and culture; the personalities come from the following countries: Germany, Argentina, Australia, Bosnia, Brazil, Cape Verde, Canada, Cuba, China, United States, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Peru, Portugal, United Kingdom, Russia , Syria, Venezuela and Spain.

The prize, of 50.000 euros, will be delivered at the? Campoamor Theater in Oviedo (Asturias, north). Last year, the winner was Pedro Almodóvar.
