Martin Scorsese presents…

one-week-alone

The Argentine scriptwriter and director, Celina murga, will present this week, in his country, his new film supervised, and almost sponsored, by the now legendary film director, Martin Scorsese.

The film is titled «A week alone«, And tells the story of a group of adolescents and children who are left adrift in a delimited territory of a country, a model citadel that contains them, providing all the necessary elements for their« survival »: houses with a park, school, party room, pool. Without fathers or mothers around, the boys orphaned for a week organize themselves in their own regime from which they do not seek to escape. They live in accepted comfort, until a stranger arrives. A new character, coming from the outside, sneaks into its perfect mechanism. And it is not the expected conflicts that are presented in response, but rather an intermittent game of cruelty and tenderness.

A choral story that exploits the weakest point, as well as the most strengthened of human moments, in conditioning circumstances that determine the explosive, or otherwise passive.

The film was supervised by Scorsese within the initiative Rolex Artistic for Mentors & Protects. The film was previously released internationally at the last Venice Film Festival, participating in turn in competitions in Buenos Aires, Vienna, Gijón and Valdivia.

Murga, who had already been subject to the idea of working with boys, since her previous film («Ana and the others«), Benefited for about a year from the Rolex Art Initiative, being able to work with Scorsese in supervising its script, as well as in the filming of the director's latest film,«Shutter Island«.

Scorsese has been very comfortable with the screenwriter, who said he plans to support his next work, which will deal with a teenager who admits to killing his father, stepmother and brother, supervising the script writing process from now on.
