Liv Tyler replaces Jennifer Connelly in Hulk

PIt seems that Liv Tyler (The Lord of the Rings among many others) will star alongside Edward Norton in the new adaptation of The Incredible Hulk from Marvel Studios. The young actress will play Betty Ross, the love interest of Dr. Bruce Banner, the Hulk's alter ego.

Ross, a classic character from the Hulk comic that began publication in 1962, is Banner's fellow scientist and ally in his quest to eliminate the monster in him. The film will begin with Ross estranged from Banner, but with Banner's desperation to find a cure, Ross finds himself drawn back into his life.

Previously, the Oscar-winning Jennifer Connelly played the same character in Ang Lee's version of the 2003 Hulk. My personal opinion is that casting Tyler (daughter of Steve Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith) is clear that the tone of the second Part of it is going to be lighter, less deep, it will not enter so much into the lives of the characters but rather into what moves around them, that is, the fights and the pure and simple visual spectacle. It is not that the beautiful Liv Tyler seems a bad actress to me, but it is clear that before Connelly she is in diapers. Another setback for the good of Edward Norton who is increasingly difficult to carry out this blockbuster.

As I said at the time, this new version of the character will take place this summer in Toronto with the direction of Louis Leterrier (Transporter, Danny the dog, well, all of them masterpieces, I hope you are wrong and not screw it up with Hulk but good), and the production of Avi Arad, Gale Anne Hurd and Kevin Feige.
