It is frustrating to watch the news about cinema and see that every day more remakes and reboots are made. Of every ten new films that are announced, more than half are remakes. For this new version of King Kong they have at least been based on an original novel. Kong: Skull Island, is based on an official novel derived from the mythical story of the giant monkey.
Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (rumored to be adapting the game Metal gera solid) and performed by Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Toby Kebbell, Thomas Mann. The story goes something like this:
The film follows a team of explorers (led by Tom Hiddleston) who venture deep inside the treacherous island to find the brother of Hiddleston's character and a much-needed serum for them. Along the way they will meet all kinds of extraordinary creatures, including the mythical King Kong.
As I mentioned at the beginning, the film is inspired by the novel Kong: King of Skull Island, which was written and illustrated by Joe De Vito. This story is the official derivative of King Kong of 1933. It takes us into the history of Skull Island, in how the mythical gorilla fought with all the creatures until he became the king of the island.
The premiere is expected in March 2017. Although I think that little can be expected of this film, after seeing a first trailer, it does not look so bad
