George Martin was the son of a carpenter, and began playing the oboe in nightclubs in North London, while studying music at the prestigious Ghildhall school. His contribution to the Beatles provided a psychedelic air to the band's music. In addition, he participated in various songs of the group, such as the piano of the song “In my life”.

The collaboration between George Martin and the Beatles began in June 1962. After the band's separation, Martin created Air studios. The facilities were fully affected by Hurricane Hugo, in the middle of the Caribbean. Soon after, he would work alongside such established names as Bob Dylan, Sting and Elton John. Since the dissolution of the Beatles, he has produced recordings for Elton John, Cilla Black, Kenny Rogers, Matt Monro, Jeff Beck, John Williams, Neil Sedaka, and Ultravox, among many others.
