Parlophone Records announced a new installment of the 7-inch series of singles in picture disc format, with which it is celebrating the anniversary of several of its classics from the 1970s. The British label confirmed that it will be released on February 23rd. the picture disc of the single 'Young Americans' by David Bowie, theme included in the self-titled album originally released on February 21, 1975.

The version of 'Young Americans' contained in side A of the new "Picture disc" It is the one mixed by Tony Visconti in 2007. The unreleased version of the song was previously included on Young Americans (Special Edition) CD / DVD with 5.1 sound. This edited version of the single is unreleased. On the AA side of the 7-inch disc is the discard single 'It's Gonna Be Me', originally released in 2007 on the special edition of the Young Americans album.

Regarding the artwork that was used for this edition, the black and white photograph of side A of the single is of Tom kelley, well-known Hollywood photographer from the forties and fifties. While New Yorker Steve Schapiro has been the author of the AA face color photo, originally taken in Los Angeles in 1975.
