Sad loss, especially for England, the British film director Anthony Minghella 54-year-old Oscar winner for his work on The English Patient passed away today Tuesday.
The cause of death was due to complications after having undergone a surgical operation to spread cancer in the tonsils and neck. At first it seemed that it had developed quite well, but tonight a hemorrhage developed that they could not stop.
David puttnam, film producer, addressed a few words to the BBC television network:
"He was a great guy, a very, very nice man, a brilliant writer, an excellent director, and someone who contributed more than most to our industry (...) He will be sorely missed"
