ANOHNI makes Naomi Campbell cry in "Drone Bomb Me" [VIDEO]

ANOHNI presents 'Drone Bomb Me'

ANOHNI, the artist formerly known as Antony Hegarty, released yesterday the second preview of her upcoming album, 'Hopelessness', the first studio work published since 2010 with that 'Swanlights' by Antony and the Johnsons. This second preview, entitled 'Drone Bomb Me', shows a girl who has lost her family in an attack with drones, asking herself to be bombarded as well so that she can leave with them.

It is impressive what ANOHNI can achieve with 'Drone Bomb Me'. I suppose that's where the magic of a real artist lies: knowing how to tell a story as desperate as that girl's, asking to be bombed, accepting that all she wants is to die, that she isn't so innocent anyway, all while asking Please be "the chosen one" that night, and may the music turn all that despair into almost a hopeful message. In the video clip for 'Drone Bomb Me', directed by Nabil, we see model Naomi Campbell play the girl, crying as she waits to be chosen.

ANOHNI will present 'Hopelessness' at the next edition of Sónar

ANOHNI has enlisted Oneohtrix Point Never and Hudson Mohawke for the production of 'Hopelessness'; an album that is very far from those piano and strings works to which we were accustomed. In an interview for a fan site, the artist described this new work as "an experimental electronic album, with a rather dark theme", an album that according to her "she felt obliged to produce". ANOHNI's relationship with electronic music has left us real gems, like his collaboration as Antony with Hercules & Love Affair in 'Blind', showing the chameleon capacity that hides behind such a fragile image.

'Hopelessness' will go on sale next May 6 and we will keep track of him very closely. Also announce that ANOHNI will be presenting this album on June 17 at Sónar.
