FICCO 2008 winning poster

The museum Franz mayer (Mexico), had the honor of hosting the official presentation of the winning poster for the Image of FICCO 2008 (International Contemporary Film Festival)

According to the designers of the poster they called WatermelonWhat they wanted with their creation was to escape the schemes of Hollywood posters, which usually include a photo of the star of the moment.

The design is undoubtedly original, but there was a small problem: the organizers did not respect the design of the poster and decided to change the handmade typeface for an Arial, taking all liberty and without consulting the authors, Santiago Robles y Jorge Garnica, with which, in a way, they took away beauty and meaning from their creation.
